RANGE UPDATE MAY 2021
The LFGA shooting Sports Facility has been open while volunteers work on getting all the ranges up and open for use. Please download and follow the COVID protocols here. We don’t want to be shut down because our members are not following these protocols.
Thanks go out to the volunteers who worked last weekend and on during the week. We are are gradually getting our facility up and running after the construction but there still is lots to do.
STATUS OF RANGES 1, 3, 4 and 6:
Ranges 1 (archery), 3 (.22LR handgun and .22LR rifle), 4 (all handgun and rim fire rifle) and 6 (shotgun trap, skeet and sporting clays) have been open since we regained access to our facility. All those ranges will still need some work but are functioning.
UPDATED STATUS OF RANGE 5:
Range 5 (all handgun and rim fire rifle) was completed during the week and is now open.
PROGRESS ON RANGES 2 and 2s:
This weekend volunteers are working on ranges 2 (centre fire rifle) and 2s (shotgun heavy pellets and slugs). I hope they will be useable next week. These ranges remain closed. People should contact me if they want to help.
UPDATE RANGE 8:
We continue to work on Range 8 (special use) but there will be lots of work on heavy equipment to finish it and get it approved.
All other ranges are operational.
RANGE OFFICER COURSE:
For clarification if you have maintained a membership in 2020 you do not need to take this course again. Those with a lapse of more than a year will need to retake this course.
Last Saturday we held an online Range Officer Course and we will have another in early June once we determine our COVID status.
The facility is looking great and I hope the weather improves so we can once again enjoy our facility while following COVID protocols of masking and distancing.
