A message from our VP and Range Operator Rick Blakeley

LFGA Members,
Thank you for responding to all our recent communications. It was very important for us to limit range access to those Range Officers with valid 2019 memberships. We should all know that entering the range without a valid membership or a day pass exposes LFGA and you to risks that we can not afford.

In addition, by renewing your memberships now you have reduced my volunteer workload. There were over 65% fewer deactivations this year. This still means that over the year I will still be reactivating over 300 individual gate cards for members who didn’t renew at this time. It also means that you should not be inconvenienced later this year by a gate that won’t respond. The added bonus is that there are range operating funds in place earlier in the year to support range improvements and the projects that LFGA supports. So thank you for your continued support of our shooting community.

The online membership system worked very well with robust support from White Night Media. There were some glitches with the manual processes that I use to put that data into the gate access system but they seem to be limited and were easily solved. A huge thank you goes out from me to those who let me know their 2019 gate cards didn’t work and patiently waited for solutions and access. The gate access system is stable now.
And those Range Officers who weren’t able to renew may renew anytime in 2019 but you will now need to send a request to me to have your gate card reactivated. This is an individual manual process that may delay your access to the range. Also if you do not renew during 2019 you will need to take the Range Officer course.
Thanks again for all your volunteer efforts, donations and membership fees. Together we contribute to our community and make the shooting sports affordable.

Your funds also go to a fund for our future range and provide additional support for the work that LFGA does supporting environment, habitat, fish and wildlife projects.  You are making important contributions to our future generations by being a member.

Best wishes for a wonderful 2019.
Rick Blakeley, Vice Presedent & Volunteer Range Operator
