President’s Update and Position Announcement.
Hello Folks,
This has been a great month for our organization with so many energetic, engaged members coming forward to volunteer their time and talents to enhance our outdoor community. I am personally touched by your support and suggestions as we transition into new positions as well as those created by resignations.
I first must extent my deepest gratitude to Michelle Sylvestre our Secretary and active volunteer for over 13 (or many more) years of service to our community. She is going to be teaching at the UofL and studying in a rigorous doctoral program. She has indicated that she will still be involved but at a reduced level. We wish her well.
Earlier I announced Wayne Wadell’s willingness to serve as our Fish Chair and Tedd Walcott who has taken over the Hut management duties. Darren Vucurevich has volunteered to step in as our Interim Treasurer and Leah Brown is providing financial coordination for the range as our Range Financial Coordinator. Leah and Darren have been putting in many hours to clean up and move our financial records to a new online system that should be more transparent, useable and understandable.
Vice President, Jeff Deuschle and I have been engaged in conversations with numerous people who have suggestions and interest in running for positions such as secretary, treasurer and board member. Marylin Peterson our third year board member will be taking nominations and running our elections.
Today, I am announcing a new position for our range. This position is designed to enhance the promotion and marketing of our Shooting Sports Facility to members, agencies and the public thus augmenting the work done by Scott Sweetman in his broader role as the LFGA Community Relations Chair.
Appointment…
Range Promotions and Marketing Chair
Darla Cooke came to us volunteering to help out. She is an active member of our range with passions for a growing number of activities. While mainly retired, Darla has varied work experience in the recreation, automotive and small business sectors. She holds a Masters degree; is very experienced with promotions and marketing; is knowledgeable with respect to nonprofit and charitable organizations; and has extensive volunteer and fundraising leadership in the arts and recreation areas. Darla looks forward to becoming more involved and enhancing our Shooting Sports Facility‘s profile for renters and members.
Cheers
Rick
