Growing up in rural southern Alberta, I have many family and friends who are actively involved in hunting and fishing. As a child, I was taught proper gun handling, both at home and in Outdoor Education. I recognize how important hunting and fishing are in the life of many southern Albertans and also know the great respect and responsibility shown by members of the hunting and fishing community, both in relations to how they deal with gun safety and in their connection to the environment. Hunting and fishing are also economic drivers here in Lethbridge and across southern Alberta.
