Do you support the continued operation of the Lethbridge Fish & Game Shooting Sports Facility in its current location in Pennaquim Park?

I do. Lethbridge Fish and Games have taken every necessary precaution, and then some, to ensure that the citizens of Lethbridge are safe. I see no reason for the Lethbridge Fish and Game Shooting Sports Facility to have to me.

Do you believe the City of Lethbridge has an obligation to residents by assisting the Lethbridge Fish and Game Association provide a safe, controlled environment to use firearms?

Just like a City operated skating rink or recreation facility, the City of Lethbridge, I believe, does have an obligation to residents to empower the Lethbridge Fish and Game Association to provide a safe, controlled environment to use firearms.

Do you agree that the LFGA Shooting Sports Facility represents an important community sport and recreation resource?

LFGA is community! They offer a safe atmosphere to explore new forms of recreation that have very low barriers to access. They also provide valuable other community services, such as community education, and conservation efforts. LFGA Shooting and Sports Facility represents an integral part of our community.

Do you believe that the LFGA Shooting Sports Facility should be treated differently than other sporting venues by the City of Lethbridge? If so, how?

I think that, with regards to safety measures and community education, that special consideration needs to be taken into account (and has already been done so, and then some by the LFGA) to ensure that all necessary precautions are being taken. With regards to taxes and licensing, I don’t believe that the LFGA should be treated any differently.

What is your position on ethical hunting and our need to support modern methods of wildlife management.

While I am personally not a hunter, I fully support, and recognize the need to support modern methods of wildlife management. I also fully support ethical hunting.

How would you support the extensive conservation, environment protection and revitalization, and wildlife management programs we provide?

I believe that City Council should continue to build a collaborative relationship with the LFGA and find ways to work with LFGA to find ways to support and advocate for LFGA programs.

Have you ever worked with the LFGA in the past and what was your experience?

I have only ever utilized the LFGA facilities for recreational purposes. I have fond memories of my times practicing (albeit horribly) target shooting, and the odd time, trying my hand at skeet shooting. I look forward to returning to the Range in the near future.
