New LFGA Web Site Launches in Public Beta! New Visitors Info

It’s here…….. the new LFGA website is up and running in public beta at lfga.club (https://lfga.club) *If you want to go right to the Volunteer Sign Up Sheet shown above you can just click on the main menu item: “Volunteer Page”

One NEW feature is the ability to sign up for volunteer opportunities online. That’s right no more complicated and lengthy exchange of emails. Event organizers create an event listing right on the lfga.club website that shows what volunteer opportunities are needed for that event and how many people are needed for each activity. Using either the list view or the calendar view you can choose an event and a ‘job’ and sign up just by providing your name and contact information (yes this is required for a number of important reasons) and that’s it, you’re done! The Event Organizer will have real-time access to what spots are filled and what’s still open

We have new volunteer opportunities already posted and some start as early as NEXT WEEK so PLEASE go give the new site a look and try out the new system by signing up to help out. The system will even allow you to remove yourself a set period of time (determined by the organizer) from the position you volunteered for if for say you happen to get sick, again this can be done right on the lfga.club website!!

Some important information to remember is that this new site has been designed to keep the usefulness of the previous site and add new feature to it with an updated look.

Open Beta – what does that mean? It means this site is really yours and you get to try it out and let us know if there are any problems or improvements we have missed before we sign off on the project as being finished. With close to 1600 possible testers and their families and friends, we think that by the end of the Public Beta everything (well most everything because you will not all want the same thing) will be just the way you want it.

Please email any bugs, issues or comments (you can tell us what you like too as that can be a very useful tool (and makes us feel good too)

Email [email protected] and they will be given to the development team to fix or adjust as need or as is possible. The site has a lot of new and powerful ‘backend feature’ some of which are active now and others will be brought online as we move forward. The user side has been redesigned with a clear fresh approach that has information arranged in a hierarchical way so that all things to do with the Range should be under the main menu choice of Shooting Sport Facility, etc

There are some known issues that are already being worked on and planned additions and reorganizations but really the only thing we don’t want to hear about (because we already know and are working on it as fast as possible) is that updating the content is a MUST and isn’t finished. Exec., Chairs and Event organizers and other are working to get their information updated for 2017 up ASAP. So you will find outdated information but those responsible are working hard to have it corrected. You don’t need to email me to tell us that a date is wrong or something is from a year ago.

So please go check it out, we’ve put a lot of thought, time and energy into making this the best possible resource for our ever growing and changing community!

lfga.org – go check out our new home today and while you are there sign up to help out!

There are actually too many new features to introduce here so we will be holding some training exercises and live presentation during the Public Beta period and a temporary section will be added to the site tomorrow at noon when the site officially goes live!

Please note the previous website is STILL UP and running at lfga.org and all its functions are active. Users are welcome to use it but over the next few days going to the lfga.org will take you to the new site as the previous site is closed down. At that time you can go to the site using either address lfga.org or the new lfga.club.

I want to thank those that built the previous site and kept it going through about three or four normal lifetimes of a website. You did an amazing job! I would also like to thank my team at White Night Media for ALL their long hours, days and weeks that went into getting all the new features in place and ready to go.

We hope you will really enjoy your experience and will be providing updates of the new site every couple of days to let you know what we have heard from feedback and what changes are being made.

Cheers

Scott Sweetman
