RCMP Revocation/ Nullification Notice

IMPORTANT POLITICS / LEGAL STATUS CHANGE – Some owners of newly prohibited sporting rifles such as the AR 15 have reported receiving a letter like the one below. It states that “~ previous registration certificates are automatically nullified ~”. There is currently a lot of speculation on if this can be fought or if it’s part of the larger fight. Many also interpret this to mean that anyone in possession of one of the newly prohibited, even if previously registered, firearms is now in illegal possession of non a registered prohibited firearm BUT is protected (in theory) by the Amnesty Order which will expire April 30, 2022. As soon as any additional reliable information is available we will post it here. If you receive this letter we suggest keeping it safely stored as per restricted firearm requirements and retaining your old registration certificate for reference. Changes are also being made to the Explosives Act which could affect the storage of powder and ammunition. More details on both issues to come.
